The Maxis Cyberkids-2 Camp

About The Camp
The Maxis Cyberkids-2 Camp is a 5 day residential program conducted at a pre-selected location from throughout the country. Each camp will approximately have about 56 participants. Participants will comprise of 6 students and 2 teachers from 7 selected schools.

During the camp, participants will follow a program which has been designed to cater to the camp objectives. The Maxis Cyberkids 2 Camp takes the project based learning approach. Participants will work in groups and learn to address current local issues which they would have identified as their projects. They will be given assignments and will be required to do presentations to share with the rest of the class on what they have researched.
 
The Camp Objectives
The Maxis Cyberkids 2 Camp is designed with the following objectives:

  • To advance the technological literacy skills of students in the rural areas through the use of ICT tools and its applications.
  • To develop an interactive program on ICT training that promotes usage and application of tools and resources available on the Internet for students (Form 1 and 2) from selected schools.
  • To explore the usage of information portals and search engines.
  • To provide pre assessment programs on ICT skills and aptitude tests for students involved in the camp.
  • To propose awareness programs and community support events in conjunction with the Maxis Cyberkids 2 Camp.
  • To provide an online communication tool (Cyberkids-2 Portal) as a mechanism to gauge impact and ensure long term sustainability of the Maxis Cyberkids-2 Program.
