This program was carried out after the launching of CK@School.
  •  Due to the limitation of the number of computers in Access Room, we had divided the participants to two groups and conducted the activities for two sessions.
  • v Session 1 was for the Form 1 students. Session 2 was for Form 2 Students. The forms were distributing the every form 1 and form 2 classes to invite the interested students to join this program.
  • From the list of participants, they were students from all level and race, Chinese, Iban, Malay and Bidayuh from Form 1 and 2 were interested to join this program.
  • v This was a good phenomenon as mentioned by our Prime Minister, the concept of “1 MALAYSIA”.
  • First at all, our supervisor, Cikgu Wong had given briefing to the students about the CK@School. All the students were paying their attention and were clear about the activities for the day.
  • v A teacher, Mdm. Chai was also joined the program as she was very interested about the project that had been conducted by the cyberkids.
  • The cyberkids were all ready as they all had done the preparation before this program was conducted.
  •  We had conducted more than 5 meetings to prepare for this program and for the project. All the cyberkids participated actively in the meeting and gave the idea for the project and the program.
  •  For the first session, it was the learning of photoscape. Edmund and Philip were became the facilitator for this session. They were prepared well at home for few nights (according to them?) for the functions and application that contain in the Photoscape software.  This was good for them to share the knowledge from the CK Camp at Damai Puri Resort.
  • All the students were learned the software steps by steps and helped by the other cyberkids.
  • We had uploaded some of the examples of the photos that produced by the students using Photoscape software in our portal.
  • Second session was the audacity software that conducted by Angeline and Lydia. This two members were really creative and had conducted the session very successfully as the students could enjoy the audacity and produced their own audio creatively.
  • The third session was about the Photostory software that conducted by our two young members, Qi Qi and Julia. They had conducted the session very well too. The students really enjoyed the session because they can build a video at very simple steps. The students were using the products from the first and second sessions to produce the photostory. We had uploaded some very interesting photostory in the portal to be enjoyed by the visitors.
  • After that, the students were introduced to our main project – Cyber Library of SMK Jalan Arang.
  • The cyberkids were very excited to introduce the Cyber Library to the students. The students were surfed the Cyber Library and joined as the members in the Cyber Library. They were also given the time to read the stories and wrote their comments in the guestbook.
  •  Some of the students were very supportive and also given us very useful comments to improve the Cyber Library.
  • The cyberkids were read over the comments in the guestbook and this made our Cyber Library more attractive and interesting.
  • v As a conclusion, the Cyberkids cooperated and therefore the “You Can Do It” Program was a success. Some of the students live in rural areas and may not have computers at home. With the patience and guidance of the Cyberkids, all of the students could manage the 3 applications.
  • The students had a lot of fun (some of them rarely had a chance to use these applications) especially while using Photoscape.
  • The Cyberkids had chosen the project Cyber Library to build up reading culture among students of SMK Jalan Arang and the community.
  • Besides, students from multi racial are combined with this program under 1 Malaysia concept.
  • Acknowledgement: First at all, we would like to say thank you to:
  • Maxis – for giving us this opportunity to join the camp, learnt the applications, conducted the project… etc. without support from Maxis, we can’t make it.
  • Our school Principal, Senior assistants, teachers, PIBG Excos and members, all the students for giving us fully support to make our project and this Program successful.
Thank you very much.

Ø  since the Cyber Library of SMK Jalan Arang had successfully been created, we had our NILAM day.

Ø  During the NILAM lesson (BM, BI or BC), the teacher concern can bring the students to the school access room to log on to the Cyber Library.

Ø  The students were asked to read the stories and record in the NILAM book.

Ø  The students were enjoying reading and writing (read more and writes more).

Ø  Recently, we had changed our Cyber Library theme – we had put in “1 MALAYSIA” concept into it. So the students were introduced and keep reminded for every single visit to our Cyber Library.

Ø  From the project, we hope that we could unite all the readers/members to remember “1 MALAYSIA”.

Ø  We had chose Class 1 E and 1 F as examples of our NILAM Day.

Ø  Cikgu Shelton brought the students of 1 Edmonton and I Frankfurt to the Access RoomI and logged on to the Cyber Library.

Ø  The students did NILAM records.

Ø  So far, the Cyber Library (cyberlibrary.webs.com) has 62 members and has more to come. Stories, jokes, poems and riddles of BM, BI and BC are continued to be posted.
